You are looking for a Splitwise alternative.

Here are the four things to look at before moving a whole group across, and what Quittes does on each. You can check all of it by opening the app, no signup required.

Does the money actually move?

Most apps stop at "Marc owes you 47.20". The maths is right, and nobody pays. The balance sits there for months.

Whoever is owed shows a SEPA transfer code. The other scans it with their banking app, and the amount is already filled in. No payment provider, no commission.

Does it work with no signal?

You log the most expenses while travelling, and travelling is exactly where you have the least signal. Plenty of apps work once open, but will not load at all offline.

Your expenses live on your phone. The app loads offline too, two people can enter expenses at the same time without creating duplicates, and everything syncs when the connection is back.

How are currencies handled?

A rate applied at display time makes the group accounts move after the fact. A beer paid on 3 August should not change value on the 12th.

The rate is frozen with the expense, on its own date, from European Central Bank rates. It never moves again. And you can still change it if your bank used another one.

Can you tell who changed what?

"I am fairly sure it was 60, not 65." That is the sentence that sets a group on fire, and nothing lets you answer it.

Every correction is dated and attributed. You see who changed the amount, when, and exactly what moved. Including on a deleted expense.

What Quittes does not do yet.

Better you know before trying than after.

Moving a group that is already running.

Create the group

A name, your first name, the currency. Ten seconds, no signup.

Carry over the current balance

One single expense that puts everyone back where they stand. You do not need to copy the history across.

Send the link

The others open it, pick their name, and that is it. Nothing to install for them either.

Try it on the next meal, not on the next trip.

A group takes ten seconds to create and a link to share. If it does not win you over, there is nothing to uninstall.
